Erin works at the Columbus Area Arts Council. I’ve heard from sources she is their glue. Kenny works at Cumins here in Columbus. Both are extremely outdoorsy, fun, and really nice people. I shot their engagement photos in Nashville, Indiana at the Brown County State Park a couple months back and have been excited ever since to be their wedding photographer. Finally, their wedding weekend arrived!
September 12, 2009 started out as one of those crisp Indiana warm fall days that is perfect to shoot a wedding. I vote for more fall weddings! Around 2 hours from Columbus through the hills of Brown County and Bloomington, the wedding took place over in Loogootee, Indiana where Erin grew up. The services were held at the beautiful St. Peter’s Church. This church was one of the nicest Catholic Churches I have seen outside of Scotland. It was so light inside it made my photography eyes water with appreciation. Most churches are so dark it makes wedding photography difficult, not this church!

At 2pm. the doors of the church opened up to the glowing, gorgeous, bride: Erin. Her gown a Mori Lee from That Special Touch in Columbus was beautiful. Kenny and Erin were all smiles throughout the ceremony. I loved this ceremony not only because the fantastic priest let me take pictures during the entire thing but how many elements were there. The unity candle, the blessing of the rings and couple, and they even signed the marriage license during the ceremony. Also, I can’t forget to mention the flower girl, ring bearer, and bride all had on cow boy boots. What a cute idea!

Right after the ceremony, the wedding party shimmied over to The Blue Door Antique Shop which was a wedding photographer’s dream! The colors, antiques, horses, old carriage, adirondack chairs, and fall flowers were oozing with charm and color. We did the fun modern/contemporary wedding photos I so love do to. Her ring was amazing as it ‘reflected Erins love of horses with a tiny horse shoe.

Fast forward to the reception packed with family and friends at St. Martin’s Hall, the party began. There was plenty of country music, horse-inspired decorations, (Erin is an equestrian), and good ol fashioned country food goodness. Their cake was unbelievably good. Covered in Chocolate horses, it was chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry and was yum! Kenny’s dad wrote the newlyweds a song to which they danced, and the entire bridal party got on the floor for some line dancing fun.
