Thursday, October 29th, 2009Guatemala Destination Wedding: Happy Anniversary!
Thursday, October 29th, 2009One year ago on Dia De Los Santos in Antigua, Guatemala I married the coolest guy I’ll ever know. Our wedding was in Guatemala as we wanted it to be for us rather than for everyone else. We were able to have the ones closest to us there as well as our Guatemalan families, peace corp volunteers, and even Eddie the driver attended.
Over 5 years ago, I was interning at Print Pack in Bloomington, Indiana. While enjoying the fall weather and colors in Bloomington, I attended the farmers market every Saturday with my new baby chihuahua, Lola, in tow. You are not suppose to bring dogs, but Lola was tiny enough to fit in my shopping bag without sullying the farmers market floor. One saturday, I was roaming as usual and a tall, bearded man walked towards me. Well turns out he wanted to talk with Lola (she is really quite cute, I pale in comparison) and ever since we’ve been together. There have been some tough times (another internship in New Jersey, being at Clemson, and living in Guatemala for 3 months) but we’ve gotten through it.
He proposed two years ago at the same place we’d get married one year later at the Casa Santo Domingo, an old Catholic Church converted into a museum and hotel. The grounds are worn away cathedral walls due to the earthquake in the 1600’s that crumbled and washed away the church and much of Antigua, Guatemala. What remains is this labyrinth of old walls, stunning old fountains, and macaw birds peppered in the trees.
Anyhow here are some photos of our wedding… I love you honey!! ![]()
My fabulous Grandparents were in attendance… my grandpa walked me down the aisle as I had always wanted…
Volcanoes and sunsets… can’t go wrong with that!
Casa Santo Domingo Grounds… our wedding had over 300 candles and a traditional Guatemalan Sawdust aisle… often made during holy week
We’re on our honeymoon now a year later in Italy… photos coming soon… Ciao!
Indianapolis Wedding Photography: Ashley and Scott
Friday, October 23rd, 2009On October 17th, 2009, Ashley and Scott’s friends and family came together at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana for their wedding. Outside the church, the trees were a vibrant orange, yellow, and red. The skies alternated between sunny to overcast which many which didn’t bother me as overcast skies ROCK for wedding photography!!
After the ceremony the wedding party and I headed to the Ellenberger park in Indianapolis for some fun informal shots. The girls donned the men’s tux jackets (it was chilly) and Ashley and Scott were ravishing with the leaves falling behind them. They were such a sweet couple as I spotted a cute pug in the park, Lily, and they took some photos with her as why not?
The reception was a short drive away in Reelsville. I can’t even give words to the beautiful land Ashely’s parents have there. They set up an enormous white tent with heaters (thank you!!). The bride and groom joined soon after on a mule drawn carriage with a hand painted just married sign on the back. Toasts, great food, surprise fireworks, plenty of dancing, and a toasty glowing bonfire rounded out their gorgeous wedding day.
Enough rambling, thank you Ashley and Scott for choosing me to be your photographer! Here are some of their many beautiful photos:
I love the details of weddings!! Scott had levels for cuff links!!
Isn’t she gorgeous!!!
First look.. I love these where the B+G see each other before… so sweet!
Can’t go wrong with fireworks and a kiss!

Columbus Indiana Photography: Jessi + Jeremy’s E-Session
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009On a gorgeous Columbus, Indiana fall day with a brisk 60 degrees and crisp air, I met with the fun couple Jessi and Jeremy at Jeremy’s family farm. Driving through the rows of golden dried corn and red leaves, I knew this session was going to be full of fall flavor and color. On the lawn of their farm was these two HUGE red antique tractors that Jeremy’s family is really proud of and rightfully so. They shined apple red in the fall sun!
We started with some family photos (which I’ll post in a future blog to keep things separate) then moved into the e-session. With Jeremy’s tractors both big and small (they had these two TINY tractors for the kids), the textured barn, some pumpkins, fall colored leaves, and Colt’s jersey’s this e-session was so much fun. I can’t wait until their wedding extravaganza next fall!
LOVE!!!!

Indiananapolis Wedding Dress Designer: Btrousseau ROCKS!
Thursday, October 8th, 2009Last week I met up with Beth Bennett, my favorite fashion designer in the mid-west, to do a quickie “Rock the Dress” mock bridal shoot. The shoot was less than 30 minutes, but with Steph and that dress it was a breeze to get heaps of beautiful photos. You can see more of Beth’s many creations on etsy as well as online at www.btrousseau.com. If you are a bride wanting something really unique I urge you to contact Beth!
The model, Stephanie, had on Beth’s newest creation. It was a lovely tea length lace applique wedding dress that was vintage like and timeless in it’s own right. I hope to see more of these dresses on brides in the near future. I can’t forget to mention the caged veil headband and jeweled headband Beth made. Both were extremely well made and delicate in appearance. I want to shoot more of these gorgeous creations Beth!!!

Indianapolis Indiana Wedding Photographer: Aaron + Lindsey
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009A couple of weeks ago in August there was this week of fall-like weather, and Aaron and Lindsey’s wedding fell on one of those days. Their wedding was at the Lafayette Country Club in Lafayette, Indiana and the cool breeze, green grass, and lush trees could not have been more perfect. Lindsey had cute fan’s on every seat, but no one needed them.
Lindsey’s gown was spectacular with intricate beading and layers. Her blue eyes popped and were hard to take my camera away from. Aaron of course was handsome in his tux as were the rest of the grooms party. I adore men in tuxes! So sharp! The colors were pink and black with the bridesmaids in simple yet elegant black cocktail dresses. Everything about this day went smooth. An interesting twist was the cake as the bride did not like traditional cake so she had cheese cake complete with various warm toppings like strawberry, chocolate, raspberry and more. Also the bride had a dessert fondue station with fruits and sweets I nibbled on a couple of times. Great idea!
LOOK at her blue eyes.. like.. um… WOW they popped!
Here is the handsome groom..
I LOVE these shots… the real wedding happenings!
This golf course is surrounded by woods.. beautiful setting for a wedding
Happy tears during the ceremony
again her blue eyes.. against the blue sky.. gorgeous!
The first dance.. the kids watched so intensely I had to capture their expressions
I caught the bouquet being caught!! Mad shutter finger skills!
