There was so much intense color and details in Jessi and Jeremy’s fall wedding. From the red shoes to the mini hay bails on the checkered table cloths everything was so creative. Jessi really poured her heart into each detail and it shows.
How did you come up with your wedding theme? Jeremie’s family collects antique Case IH tractors. Since he just finished restoring his 1066 when we got engaged, we decided to make his way of life part of our big day. Plus, I think black is classic and the red just looks amazing! Plus, I could do fun stuff with red (shoes, for example)
Wedding Dress? Ceremony dress? Mori Lee lace A line dress with red satin heels, Reception dress- halter from David’s Bridal with a black sash and red cowgirl boots. My Dad picked out and bought my ceremony dress, but I wanted something with straps and a little more simple for the reception (easier to dance in, and went with the cowgirl boots better). I asked him and Jeremie if they minded if I had two dresses. Jeremie said, “well you only do this once, may as well go big!” I hope to do a trash the dress session with the reception dress, then have a christening gown made out of it. I am preserving the ceremony dress. Marie Frey at FCCI in Indy did all of my alterations.
Hair? Kimberly Hall did my hair for the entire day… she followed me around during pictures, did some touch ups just before the ceremony. After we were introduced at the reception, she put my hair up when I changed dresses. She was amazing and made sure I looked wonderful the entire day.
Bridesmaids dresses? I had a closet full of bridesmaid dresses that I will never wear again. I didnt want my girls to have another “bridesmaid dress” in their closets. As soon as we decided on the colors, I knew I wanted the girls to wear little black dresses. Since they all have unique styles, I wanted each girl to pick her own dress, reflecting her style, and something she could wear again. I LOVE shoes… and the idea of fun red shoes just thrilled me. Since the girls were picking their own dresses, I figured they could pick their own shoes as well… I just requested that they check the color with me before they bought. The end result was PERFECT! We decided to have our sisters wear little red jackets, so they could stand out a little.
Rings? Jeremie’s ring is titanium, mine is white gold. I also got a simple diamond band to wear on the other side of my engagement ring. We purchased the bands at Columbus Gold and Diamond Outlet. He ordered my e-ring and wedding present (charm bracelet) from BlueNile.com
Favorite moment? I loved the first look before the ceremony with just Jeremie and I (he cried, a little). I also enjoyed being alone with him in the tractor on the way to the reception… we got to talk and just enjoy the fact that it was our day!
Funniest moment? I thought it was pretty funny that I knocked down the aisle flowers with my dress in the church… But we also had fun in the photobooth, being silly, at the reception.
Tell me about the two dresses you had– why you chose two? See above.
Food? Our menu catered by Kill and Marlis Kidd was pulled pork, mac n cheese, cole slaw, baked beans, pasta salad, meatballs, chips, veggies, and fruit salad went with our country theme. My favorite part, was the dessert buffet; cupcakes in four flavors, tractor shaped sugar cookies with red icing, rock candy on sticks, donut holes, and angel food cake. We had bakery boxes for our guests to take dessert home. This was a big hit! Cakes and Cupcakes? Cakes by Gloria Cookies? Christie’s
DJs? Dancin’ DJs did an amazing job with our entire reception. Everything flowed well and they were wonderful to work with. They even choreographed our first dance (Amazed, by Lonestar).
