How did you two meet? We met at a local restaurant, Bistro 310, here in Columbus, IN. We had dinner and then ended up watching a West Virginia basketball game and having a few more drinks. The next day we had planned to go for a hike in Brown County, but it ended up raining, so we made a pizza and watched the Colt’s play. From that point on, we have been inseparatable!
Proposal Story? On our “one year anniversary” of dating, we had planned to go back to Bistro 310 for dinner. It happened to be a Saturday around lunch time, so we went to Chili’s and had some lunch. When we came back to the house, we decided to just take it easy and relax. Little did I know what was about to happen! I could tell Clark wasn’t acting himself, but didn’t think much about it. We decided to buy each other something small to celebrate, so we went on and exchanged gifts. I got a little emotional when I read Clark’s card and lost one of my contacts in my eye. I went to fix that little problem and put my glasses on. When I came back in to the living room, my favorite song by Rascal Flatts was playing.
I had always wanted a “first dance” with Clark and we had never been to an event to have that moment. Clark decided that today was the day! We had our first dance to “I Won’t Let Go” by Rascal Flatts. After the song was over, I noticed that it was playing again. Clark started talking and said a lot of stuff and ended up on one knee. I was a historical mess at this point and heard the two most important words, marry me? It took me a minute, but I finally managed to get YES out!
Saturday, September 24, 2011 is one day that I will never forget! I said YES to the most amazing man and can not wait to walk down the aisle to his smiling face on November 10!
Who picked the ring? We were shopping one Saturday in Greenwood, IN and Clark decided that he wanted to take me to look at rings to get an idea of what I might like. We looked in several stores, but there was one ring that I REALLY liked and got a little teary eyed when I put it on. Clark noticed but didn’t say anything! We looked at some others and just went on about our day. Clark had a business trip to Mexico planned in a few weeks, and it happen to be a Friday before he was suppose to leave, that he had a “conference call with Mexico!” His “conference call with Mexico” actually turned out to be his trip to Greenwood, IN to finish the final details on the setting and diamond for my ring that he designed on his own!! It is absolutely perfect!!
