Concourse Hotel Wedding in Madison Wisconsin: Sara & Tom

Concourse Hotel Wedding in Madison Wisconsin

Overview of the day:

Our wedding day was a whirlwind of perfection and fun! It is unbelievable how quickly the day flew by for us. Our goal for our wedding day was to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests, and if the dance floor and photo booth pictures were any indication, we were successful!

The morning was filled with last-minute details: hair, makeup, a new iPhone, last-minute deliveries from the tuxedo rental company, and even buying golf umbrellas (that we thankfully did not use). The ceremony went off without a hitch, and our musicians were absolutely phenomenal. The reception venue kept our guests entertained with excellent food, great service, and a beautiful ambiance. The night ended at midnight with the entire wedding party and several wedding guests singing “Piano Man” by Billy Joel in a large circle. We could not have asked for a better day!

Choosing our wedding date was relatively simple: we knew we wanted to wait until Tom finished his master’s degree, and we wanted to have the wedding in early summer. With those parameters, we set out to find a venue we liked that was available in June 2013. For our reception, we chose the Concourse Hotel because we wanted to have the reception at a convenient location for the many out of town guests. After seeing the Concourse hotel, we knew it was perfect; the décor was simple and elegant, which is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. After choosing the space, we picked décor to complement the ambiance that already existed at the Concourse. We kept the majority of decorations simple and subtle, and chose to make vibrant flowers the focal point of the room. The Concourse and the florist worked incredibly well together, and the reception room was absolutely stunning.

Favorite moment:

Sara’s favorite moment from the day was walking back from pictures to the reception with just Tom. It was the first moment that we were alone, and it gave us a moment to be together and take in the first half of the day before walking into the reception. Tom’s favorite moment was entering the room to see the incredible ambiance put together by the Concourse, the florist, and our wonderful DJ.

Funniest moment:

For Sara, it was by far when my dad put the cheese head on Tom during his Father of the Bride speech! For Tom, the funniest moment was watching our friend Sean panic after his girlfriend caught the bouquet.
