A little preface before the photos and their love notes begin… when I first met Andrew and Megan I knew the pair were a creative fun couple. They are getting married on the most beautiful property in Carthage Indiana and Andrew’s mom is steady at work whipping up some amazing details. Back to their e-session, they mentioned liking the Colts and wanting some photos in their jerseys and I randomly suggested how about we do that with a old couch and tv in a field or woods? They went to work and within a couple of days found said props and then added some of their own. Top it off with Piper the cute Vizla puppy– I was in photographer heaven.
Watch out for angry colts fans– popcorn goes flying!!!
I really love the black of white below of Megan.. to me it is true art
How and when did he propose? Andrew proposed on October 27, 2009. It was officially 10 months that we’d been together and we decided to go out to dinner that night.
We started talking about getting married after 2 months of dating… it was like from the beginning, we just knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
Anyway, on the way to that restaurant that night, I realized that the topic hadn’t come up in a few weeks, so I jokingly made some comment like, “are you having second thoughts about marrying me?” He, of course, replied that he wasn’t and we ended up just talking about our future together.
At one point he was on his phone, texting under the table, and a few minutes later, he got up and said he had to use the restroom. He came back and immediately got down on one knee with a gorgeous ring in his hand and asked me to marry him.
Turns out, the topic of marriage hadn’t come up in the past few weeks because he’d already bought the ring. And the person he was texting was his roommate, asking him to bring the ring to the restaurant. He didn’t plan on asking me that night, but he said it just felt like the perfect time… and it really was.
Who picked out the ring? One day Drew just handed me a little Gabriel & Co. book of rings and told me to pick out the ones I liked. I ended up picking at least ten. I didn’t want to choose just a couple because I did want to be somewhat surprised. I think I told him I liked them all equally, but in reality there was one in particular that I just couldn’t get off my mind. I can’t tell you how happy I was when he opened the box that night and I looked down and saw that very ring![]()
Your wedding details? I couldn’t really define our wedding inspiration… In all honesty, we’re just kind of winging this whole thing. I’ve been to three weddings in my whole life, two of those being when I was a flower girl at ages four and six, so it’s difficult for me to even envision what a wedding should look like. We have a beautiful, perfect venue that is also meaningful to us because we’ve had so many good times there. Everything else, so far, seems to just be falling into place. Not to mention the fact that Drew’s mom, Jennifer, is like my own personal wedding planner/coordinator. She’s been beyond helpful, and we’ve had a blast putting everything together.
Date and how you met? Drew and I met in September of 2008. The school year was starting up and not only did we live in the same complex, but our townhouses were right next to each other. My two roommates and I, and he and his two roommates became good friends… we hung out, drove each other to classes, and played some harmless pranks.
Towards the end of the semester, Drew and I started hanging out, just the two of us, and realized how much we had in common and how much fun we had together. Shortly thereafter, over Christmas break, we officially became became “boyfriend and girlfriend.”
It was hilarious when school started back up because everyone was so used to us being just friends, that they were totally weirded out by the fact that we were dating. It was like elementary school or something… They would tell us to kiss in front of everyone and when we would, they would all respond by saying things like “ewww, gross!”
Favorite part of the e-session? It’s so hard to choose! We just had a blast… I think we laughed like the entire time! Of course, sitting on the old, stinky couch we found on the side of the road in our colts jerseys, throwing popcorn at you was awesome
We were also so happy to finally get some pictures with Piper… the three of us are like a little family, yet we have zero pictures of Drew and I with him. It was amazing how patient you were when he refused to sit and look at the camera and when we didn’t want him in the shot, but he refused to get out of the way! We can’t tell you how much we appreciated that!
