I’m Stacy Able, a photographer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in graphic communications with emphases on printing, design, photography, business, and science.
I specialize in local and destination weddings as well as pet, portraiture, and product shoots. My photography assignments have taken me to Cancun, Mexico; Guatemala; Edinburgh, Scotland; Tuscany, Italy; France; California; Clemson, South Carolina; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
How I ended up in Indiana is the result of a chance meeting a fabulous, tall, bearded man with a big heart at the Bloomington Farmer’s market in Bloomington, Indiana. This man, Walter, talked to me and my chihuahua, Lola, who I had snuck in. From that day forward, our love story began—one full of farmers markets, dogs, and volunteering together in Guatemala. In 2007, Walter proposed at the Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua, Guatemala, the site where we were married on November 1, 2008. We chose to wed in Guatemala as we wanted our Guatemalan “family” with whom we’ve volunteered and lived to attend. Check out my blog post for more info: Guatemala Destination Wedding.
My wonderful husband is the president of a non-profit organization called Seeds of Help (www.seedsofhelp.org) that provides grassroots development in the northwest area of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. I am fortunate to be able to donate my photography, graphic, and web design skills to bring awareness to the Mayan woman and children in this region. My most recent trip to Guatemala was in June 2009. You can view some of my favorite photos from that trip here.
