Spring engagement photography session in the Midwest at IMA

Q&A with Bride to be Rachel:

Where did you meet?
Erin and I attended Illinois Wesleyan University and officially met our sophomore year when we studied abroad together in Madrid.  However, he’s since spilled that he “knew of me” before that because he’d seen me around campus and thought I was pretttyy.:)  And I definitely noticed him during a meeting for our study abroad program – he showed up after swimming laps, and his hair was all askew and he smelled like chlorine. Just like I like ’em.

How did he propose?
He proposed in the Sculpture Garden of the Art Institute of Chicago.  It was a beautiful Sunday morning and there weren’t too many onlookers, so he didn’t have any performance anxiety.  Although, I do remember there being a lot of squirrels around.  Anyway, immediately after we both hugged, smiled, and kissed the rest of the day away.  And drank mimosas… it was divine.

Who chose the ring?
Erin did!  It’s a family piece and I feel very honored to wear it.

Favorite part of Engagement session?

Honestly, joking around with you was the best part!  I’m so glad we found a photographer that we can connect with.  Also, the garden where we took the pictures smelled AMAZING.  So many cherry blossoms.

Wedding Plans?
We’ll be married in the chapel of alma mater and then we’ll dine at a local farm-to-table restaurant in Bloomington, IL.
