Columbus Indiana Senior Photography: Chelsey

Monday, April 12th, 2010

I know Chelsey through another senior, Shelby, I photographed last October. When it was time for Chelsey to intern for a day she called me via Shelby’s suggestion and we talked for 6 hours on all things photography and art. She is a great photographer herself and will be going to school in the fall to begin her journey in higher education.

Of course when Chelsey called me a couple weeks later for her senior session, I knew it would be heaps of fun and center around photography. Being a vintage styled girl, we used some of Chelsey’s vintage cameras, sunglasses, and retro clothing to create photos I feel should be in a magazine. We started in downtown Columbus then headed to her favorite tree in the fields of southern Indiana.

While editing the photos it was so hard for me to pick a favorite as Chelsey’s smile was perfect in every shot. Below are some of my highlights fr0m this session. I’ll be posting a slide show here shortly so check back soon!

Destination Guatemala: Photography for Seeds of Help

Monday, June 29th, 2009

This past week I went on another journey to Guatemala with Seeds of Help (www.seedsofhelp.org). I am their official Guatemalan destination photographer and am happy to come along every year to document all the great things this little non profit with a big heart is accomplishing. In addition to having a preschool and more than 20 women’s groups, hundreds of water tanks, and more… Seeds of Help is making leaps of progress in the “Cumbre” (mountain top of Huehuetenango, Guatemala) by teaching the women nutrition, literacy, gardening, family planning, and  getting children enthused to learn. Seeds of Help is entering their 10th year of operations and I have been happy to volunteer with them in Guatemala for the past 3 years. Each passing year I go to Guatemala, I see how Seeds of Help is improving lives of Guatemalans living in the Cumbre. I could go on and on how amazing these people are who live at 10,0oo+ feet of Guatemala and survive as well as how lucky we Americans are to have education past the 6th grade, but I’ll stop rambling and let the photos speak for themselves. Peacock Boudoir Photography

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

In Bloomington this past weekend, I worked with two very talented people. Kinsey, a  extraordinary makeup artist and Jenni, a talented model. The model was intricately painted with peacock feathers, feather eyelashes, and beautiful eye shadow done to match. I’ll post some of the PG shots.
