Margaret & Jason’s Crown Point Indiana Wedding at St. Elijah’s Hall

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Via bride and groom Margaret & Jason: We wanted everything to have a personalized feel from the wine labels, our green and ivory colors, to cigars and our signature jello shots at parties. We loved how big and open the reception venue the St. Elijah’s Hall in Crown Point Indiana was.

Cowboy boot bride: Columbus Indiana Wedding

Monday, January 10th, 2011

Megan is a special education elementary teacher and Chad is a air traffic control man in Waco Texas. They both are from northern Indiana and decided to have their summer wedding at home. Their colors were turquoise and brown which you’ll see throughout their wedding. What really was cool about this wedding was this old barn right next to the church. It had a soft worn away brown which perfectly complimented Megan’s theme not to mention custom cowboy boots. Who doesn’t love a bride who can rock a Maggie Sottero gown with cowboy boots peeking out below?

Seymour Indiana Wedding Photography: Amy + Mike get married

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

What a beautiful late summer wedding Amy and Mike had. Between the forest decorated cake, diy table decorations, the thumb print guest tree, colored straws, and vibrant bouquets this wedding was a joy for me to photograph. I loved all of the memorable photo locations such as the fire tower and the sunset shots in the vineyards of Chateau De Pique. As always, I had a wonderful time working with the couple and their families.

Being these two work in the state parks, it was only appropriate we go to a small park near Brownsburg to climb the fire tower. I love when couples have creative ideas all their own!

Amazing cake made by Mike’s Aunt. The bases, both fathers of the couple cut down stumps and then Amy covered the bases with moss. Very appropriate cake for two foresters.

Slightly obsessed with the table decorations. They were small flowers made of twigs and colorful paper. So many great DIY ideas from this wedding!!

Rawhide Ranch, Brown County Indiana Wedding Photography: Desiree + Brian

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Desiree and Brian’s DIY wedding at the Raw Hide Ranch in Brown County/Nashville, Indiana was a vintage inspired soiree.  There were so many details I couldn’t stop photographing such as the literary apples, typewriter, clothes pins, flowers, and DIY Martha Stewart ceiling poofs. Desiree and Brian sure know how to throw a celebration and I was honored to be chosen as their photographer.

This 1920s vintage Underwood typewriter was a wedding gift and appropriate as Desiree and Brian are professors. Also many of the guests are poets, fiction writers, or English teachers.

Each apple had a title of the couples favorite novels which also doubled as table card holders. The couple also chose the Raw Hide Ranch in Brown County/Nashville Indiana as they wanted to be in nature, and the ranch as they wanted a place to have fifty of their closest friends and family could spend the weekend together– they wanted the wedding to be more than a day long.

DIY details galore!!! I asked Desiree how she came up with her theme and she said the design scheme was inspired by the dresses and location. She also wanted to include their personalities. Since the dress looked antique and the barn rustic, they couldn’t go with anything too modern so she chose milk glass, antique flowers, and huge paper DIY poofs from Martha Stewart.

The funniest moments for Deisree was the ceremony not going quite as planned as there was too much wind to light the candles and her walking down the wrong aisle (there were two)

Chad + Cheryl’s E-Session in the Indianapolis Snow

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Cheryl, Chad, and I met up in Indianapolis on Valentines day to shoot their engagement session. As you all know we’ve had heaps of snow but that didn’t deter Cheryl from sporting the cutest open toe red mary jane heals and a slew of other cute fashionable threads. Cheryl and Chad are amazing personal trainers at Fitness by Design in Indianapolis, Indiana. I’d highly suggest if you are in need of buffing up schedule a session with either of them.

We kicked off their engagement session in a park just north of Indy which had plenty of soft, white, cold powdery snow. The afternoon light glittered through the trees and wrapped beautifully around Cheryl and Chad. A vintage sled, old ice skates, goofy winter hat, and valentines day hearts all complimented this session. Both Cheryl and Chad were so much fun to photograph as they really got into pushing and pulling each other on the old sled. Also, Chad was the perfect gentlemen lifting his lovely lady over the snow walls to take photos on a wooden bench surrounded by chilly snowy nature.
