Indiananapolis Wedding Dress Designer: Btrousseau ROCKS!

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Last week I met up with Beth Bennett, my favorite fashion designer in the mid-west, to do a quickie “Rock the Dress” mock bridal shoot. The shoot was less than 30 minutes, but with Steph and that dress it was a breeze to get heaps of beautiful photos. You can see more of Beth’s many creations on etsy as well as online at www.btrousseau.com. If you are a bride wanting something really unique I urge you to contact Beth!

The model, Stephanie, had on Beth’s newest creation. It was a lovely tea length lace applique wedding dress that was vintage like and timeless in it’s own right. I hope to see more of these dresses on brides in the near future.  I can’t forget to mention the caged veil headband and jeweled headband Beth made. Both were extremely well made and delicate in appearance. I want to shoot more of these gorgeous creations Beth!!!

Indiana Trash the Dress: Bride on a Horse

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The day after Erin’s gorgeous wedding in Loogootee, Indiana she wanted to do a Trash the Dress session with one of her horses. She hoped on her horse with her gown from That Special Touch in Columbus, Indiana and rode around the Indiana fields. Some of the trees had already started to turn that golden fiery fall color which contrasted nicely with the horse and Erin.

Indianapolis Wedding Gown Designer: Btrousseau

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

A couple weeks ago I met with some of my favorite models and a new favorite fashion designer in Indianapolis to debut her spring 2010 collection. The collection has a very bo-ho goddess feel with colors such as wasabi and a salmon number. I can’t explain it as elegantly as Beth Bennett, the designer of B Troussaeu, but the spring collection just asked for movement. You can see her some of her many creations on etsy as well as online at www.btrousseau.com/ Not only does she make wonderful custom dresses that will make you feel like a goddess, she also makes these amazing wedding gowns both fancy and formal along with unique destination numbers. If I had known about her before our Guatemala Wedding last year I would have used her creative dress making abilities.

Onto the shoot, the lovely Stephanie and Tonie graced us with their gorgeous presences and really completed the looks. Stephanie wore the ombre pale to vibrant fire pink number that fit her perfectly. She swayed, jumped, and busted a ballet  move to get the dress to show it’s many facets. Toni stepped up next with her wasabi green halter gown and twirled, posed, and shimmied to show off her threads. There were two more looks following which was a lighter wasabi caftan on Steph and a gorgeous shift boho on Toni. Again, they worked the studio creating designer/photographer/model magic.

To complete our shoot, we headed to my favorite location in Indianapolis to get a on location vibe. Enough of my ode to gorgeous dresses and great models… check out the photos as my words can not do these dresses justice!

Trash the Dress in Columbus & Indianapolis Indiana

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

With the great weather we’ve been having here in Indiana this summer, my trash the dress series have been a breeze. Last week in early August, I met up with gorgeous Brianna, from Indianapolis, for a paint variation on trash the dress. Her hair was a array of colors which perfectly fit the funky shoot we had planned.

She started out painting the dress with the red, green, yellow, and blue paints. After some swirls and dots were painted, she proceeded to dump the paint randomly over the dress. Lola, my chihuahua, decided she wanted to partake and came over to put her paws into the mix. After the dress was thoroughly painted, we painted a stripe on her forehead for added color.

The dress was gorgeous with all the color and this type of shoot is perfect for a bride who wants to add creativity to her wedding album. She doesn’t have to use her dress as there are plenty of options (second hand shops, ebay, etc) to find a dress to be trashed. I’m finding as a wedding photographer, many brides realize their future daughters probably won’t be wanting to wear their dresses so having fun with the gown (or ebay dress)  is a great option.

We ended the session with silly string and I had to dodge strings of green and blue flying everywhere. Brianna was an awesome subject to photograph and I can’t wait to shoot her again sometime soon.
