Our wedding was in January, because we wanted to get married after Chas finished school at Purdue. Since he graduated in December we thought January would be a good time to get married. We had our wedding ceremony at Grace Lutheran church since that is where I grew up and my father is the pastor there. The reception was held at the Commons Mall in downtown Columbus. We loved the building and thought it was a beautiful venue for a large party. We were expecting around 350 people and needed a space that could accommodate a large number of guests. We also loved all the windows allowing for lots of natural light, which we thought would look beautiful for a brunch. Chas and I chose to have a morning ceremony, followed by a brunch to allow easier travel for guests. Both of us have always enjoyed brunch and wanted to do something fun and different for our guests. We had a purple/navy theme that incorporated some beautiful flowers and peacock colors on the centerpieces.
Favorite Moment?Anna: It was walking into the Commons for our entrance as husband and wife and seeing all the people who had come to celebrate with us. Chas: Being able to thank all of our friends and family for joining us in our celebration.
Funniest moment? Anna: Listening to the best man’s speech. Nick has been such a great friend and he always makes everyone laugh. Chas: It was fun to take pictures with my previous roommates in the photo booth during the reception.
We chose the song “Moon River.” Anna fell in love with that song when watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s and she always knew that she wanted that played for her wedding. It is a beautiful song!
