Janice and Nick are getting married in Indiana next June but are Californians. Since I was out there to visit family (I’m originally from California) we set up a engagement session. Janice picked out some great locations and all I had to do was follow these two around as the gorgeous California light and their love made my job easy.
Where/how did you two meet?
Nick and I met in college and started dating in March 2005. Both of us were Finance majors at Cal State Fullerton and had a few classes together throughout the years and were friends on Myspace but didn’t talk much. Our last semester, we both had an Insurance class together and ended up in a group project together. I eventually agreed to a date at one of my favorite Cuban restaurants, Habana. We have been inseparable ever since.
How did Nick propose?
Nick proposed February 12, 2010 on 11th street in Newport Beach, very close to where he lived when we first started dating. It was Friday before Valentine’s Day and we had plans to fly up to San Francisco for a night to celebrate the holiday and visit some friends. We decided to walk our German Shepherd, Kaiser on the beach before we dropped him off at Doggy Daycare for the night. It was beautiful out at the beach and I was taking some photos on my phone to send to my sister back in NY. Nick kept bugging me to put my phone away and when I asked “Why? Im not talking to anyone”… he said “This is why!” and pull out the ring box and got down on one knee. I started crying like crazy and Kaiser started to run around us all excited and happy. Of course I said YES!
Wedding inspiration, colors, details? Why Indiana?
We are getting married June 25th, 2011 in Columbus, Indiana at Nick’s Aunt and Uncle’s property. The property is beautiful with a log cabin, corn/soybean field, pond, gazebo, tons of grass, barn, and never ending trees. We really wanted a destination wedding that was family orientated and a different experience for most our guests. Nick and I were both born and raised in Southern California so a mid west country wedding at his aunt’s house is the perfect idea. I can’t wait to have our friends and family come out and enjoy some simple American fun.
Favorite part about engagement photo session?
I was REALLY nervous/excited for the engagement session for some reason!?! Maybe because it was the real start to the wedding activities or the fact I have never done a photo shoot like that before? Either way, Stacy made me feel comfortable right away and I had a blast taking all the photos. We ended up at 4 different locations around town but my favorite spot was actually back on 11th street where Nick proposed. I really didn’t even want to go take pictures there because its not the best for photo opportunities, but I am glad Nick made us. Anytime we walk down there, it brings back so many memories of us dating and when he proposed.
wow… the camera capture the real beauty nice photography
