Caroline and Patrick’s editorial Chicago engagement session was one for the books. After moving to the city from Indiana University, the pair have built such a full and fun life in Chicago—between book clubs, exploring the city, and long walks with their Bernese Mountain Dog, Sully. When Caroline shared a few inspiration images ranging from bright and joyful to moody and editorial, I knew we were going to create something really special. As a Chicago engagement photographer, I love combining a documentary-style approach with a touch of editorial flair, and this session was the perfect blend of both.
We kicked things off with a stunning cityscape backdrop, braving the chilly weather (which Sully absolutely loved, of course). Then we headed downtown to The Gwen and a few other iconic Chicago spots to capture a mix of editorial and photojournalistic imagery. The results? A gallery full of variety and personality that reflects their life and love. I’m so excited to work with Caroline, Patrick, and their families again later this summer.
