Columbus Indiana Spring Wedding at the Commons and First Presbyterian Church

While the world may have been focused on Harry and Meghan, Claire and Zach had their very own royal wedding in Columbus, Indiana on May 19th, 2018. These two are like family as I had photographed Claire’s two maid of honor’s weddings. Despite a pop up thunderstorm, that made the first look a touch atmospheric, the pair kept their cool. I could have photographed them for days as Claire and Zach are beyond sweet and goofy together. Everything was gorgeous, too. Gina with Pomp and Bloom knocked it out of the park (yet again) with her floral talents. Morgan with Ashley Weddings and Events kept the day running smoothly and efficiently. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did taking them!! I am also looking forward to seeing Claire and Zach again as they will be getting a Barbet pup from us at some point in the near future! Thank you two, and families, for being so great to work with!

Bride and Groom Q+A:

What inspired your wedding style? I envisioned rustic romance since the planning begun but knew I wanted to get married at The Commons which to me has more of a modern flare. Between my mom, coordinator, and florist we captured what I was after!

Tell me about your gown? I found my dress just 2 months into our engagement when I was living in southern California. I fell in love immediately with the lace, train and illusion details. My mom and mother in law were with me. I think it was the 4th dress I tried on! We all knew it when I stepped out of the dressing room.

Favorite moment(s)? I’m not sure I could possibly pick a favorite memory but definitely up there was our get away car; a 1957 Chevy Nomad. I wanted the Just Married sign on the back complete with tin cans for one memorable send off! It had been raining prior to the wedding so when we stepped outside and the sun was shining and this beautiful cherry red classic car was waiting for us, I can honestly say we were blown away! Another favorite memory was my first look with Zach. It was not as planned because of the weather but it couldn’t have been a more special moment for the two of us, regardless of the location.

Funniest moment(s)? I’m not sure! We had so many laughs this night– maybe during our best friend’s speeches? Parker (best man) for certain gave a funny speech.
