Loren + Mike’s Downtown Chicago Summer Engagement Photography Session

I finally got a chance to meet Loren and Mike in person last week for their summer engagement session in Chicago. It was great to get to know the two as it makes me more excited to work with them next year for their Scottish Rite wedding. We wandered their favorite spots  and visited a few iconic Chicago locations for epic skyline photos. Thank you two!! Great modeling!

Couple Q+A

How did you two meet? We met on a bet at a Madison Wisconsin football game. My friend had bet me to see who could get a number first and his brother bet he couldn’t get a number outside of dating apps. I just picked the tallest guy in the bar and approached him and come to find out he lived in Chicago 🙂 We go back to Madison for a football game every year!

First date?  Our first date was a bulls game. He got free tickets from his uncle. We sat in the nosebleeds and I honestly have no idea who they played! we talked most of the time, left early, and then walked home from the united center (home was Lincoln Park – it was a long walk) but we took the River Walk which is why we wanted some of pics there!

Proposal story?  I made this one very difficult 🙂 My first ever employee was leaving after 4 years to take a new job and he had a happy hour. Mike told me he won Hamilton tickets (we had been entering into the Hamilton lottery for months) But he insisted that we go to this restaurant (that is not close to the Chicago Theater) but we also go to it when we go to the theater in Water Tower Place. So he kept telling me it was a tradition. Well, I didn’t want to miss my employee’s happy hour so I refused to go. Come to find out he did not win Hamilton tickets but the next night we had to go because he knew if he told me he didn’t really win i would figure it out. So Thursday we went to the happy hour and then to Hamilton (10th-row seats too he had to buy last min. :)) Then Friday he asked to go to the restaurant and I was like what is your obsession! So I had to run out to O’hare after work so I was running late. I finally got there, and he had these cute fireplace seats (you can’t reserve them so he had been sitting there for a while) and he and the host had been working on this all week since he had to change it from Thursday to Friday. So he just asked me there in this small room with just us and 2 other people and the fire! they took pics for us! Then we ended up at Taco bell because when we were calling our friends outside our phones both died and we had to beg the security guard at taco bell for a phone charger to get home! (This ties to one of our late-night snacks!) Lots of detail here but you need to know how annoying I was being to enjoy this!

Wedding plans? For the wedding, we are having a large 250+ wedding if permitted with all of our family and friends (mike is Irish catholic so there is a lot fo Family! We have all the siblings standing up there with us to celebrate!
