Maranda + Mitchell’s Fall Factory 12 Loft Wedding
Maranda’s emails always brought me much joy as you can hear her excitement throughout all the planning process. She is an incredibly warm, kind human being. Mitchell is a bit more quiet, but I enjoyed getting to know the two through their planning process.
Their day was finally here in early November. The weather even cooperated with a breezy 50ish degree day. The pair were wed at Mitchell’s family church. The couple opted for a first look prior to the ceremony, which is a must for winter weddings. I wish these two all the joy and happiness. They were a pleasure to work with!
Couple Q+A
Overview of the day? We are huge fans of how string lights look in photos, and the classic look you get with them, so picking The Factory 12 Event Loft was a no brainer. Also, it was a way for us to share Columbus with our family and friends. As far as the church, I became a member in January, but Mitchell and his entire family grew up attending both the church and school.
I would say our design taste is very simple, and that was what we wanted for our day. With gold accents and greenery, we got a beautiful, simple, yet timeless look. We didn’t want to look back and regret doing anything that was a “fad” at the time — except the neon sign! 😂
We wanted a date that was in the fall, but didn’t want it to be right before the holidays, so the 14th was the winner!
As far as the day, it couldn’t have gone any better! We didn’t see or talk to each other until our first look. We were both nervous before seeing one another, but as soon as the first look happened, the nerves just went away! We kept saying “this is so weird!” — we just couldn’t believe that our wedding day was finally happening after being together for 7 years and this crazy year.
What inspired your wedding style? We not only wanted our venue to have a timeless and classic look, but we also wanted us and our bridal party to have that look as well.
Anecdotes about your gown? Both my grandma and my mom had lace on their dresses, so it was very important for me to have it on mine. Since both had passed, I wanted to have a little piece of them with me on that day.
Favorite moment(s)? Letters/Gifts to each other, first look, vows, The Lord’s Prayer being sung (grew up listening to that with my mom), first dance and other dances: father/uncle dance, mother/aunt dance, mother/son dance.
Funniest moment(s)? Flower girls walking very slow down the aisle, almost forgetting to kiss after ceremony
