The Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens Indianapolis Wedding: Sara and Breanna
When a couple wants you to use colored smoke bombs on their wedding day, you know their wedding will be amazing. Sara and Breanna were such relaxed brides and up for any sort of photo adventure. They left heaps of time for portraits which made it super difficult for me to select favorites to share. Their colored smoke bomb portraits were epic. I also have to disclose that the smoke bombs did not harm the brides’ gowns. The resulting photos will go in my portfolio!
Hidden away in Northern Indianapolis in a quaint park, the Historic Ambassador House is a photographs dream. It has so much natural light! I’m so thankful I was able to capture Sara and Breanna’s celebrations at this unique venue. Thank you for having Walter and I document your special day. It is one we won’t forget!
Q+A with Sara + Breanna:
Before we started looking at venues, we had decided that we really wanted an outdoor venue that could accommodate the ceremony and reception. We had looked at many venues and The Historical Ambassador House ended up being the last venue we toured. I think we both immediately knew it was going to be our pick as we turned onto the beautiful tree lined driveway. We fell even more in love with the venue as we saw the charm and coziness of the home and the fantastic outdoor space that was filled with flowers and surrounded by trees. We knew we wouldn’t need much decor with the gardens, which also fit our wedding style: simple, elegant, and classy! We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect wedding day.
We both wanted to be in dresses for our wedding. We chose to go dress shopping together with our moms for a fun girls day. We were both dreading this as neither of us like to shop ha. To our surprise we both tried on our second dresses and knew immediately they were the ones for us. The two dresses complimented each other just perfectly, and there was not a dry eye to be found.
Favorite moment(s)?
Sara – For me, I think being able to do the first look. It was so comforting getting just a few minutes of quietness together. For us to share that moment privately helped take away some of the anxiousness. It also gave us a chance to see each other before anyone else. Just stunning!
Bre – I think just being able to share us and our love with our closest friends and family was amazing. We are both quiet and don’t show a lot of emotion. Our wedding really helped us share ourselves and those moments with them. Also, finally being able to call Sara my wife is pretty cool!
Funniest moment(s)
We asked our dear friend Margie to be our officiant for the wedding as we wanted someone close to us to really embody both Bre and I’s personalities. This was her first time doing it! She is so embarrassed but we really think it’s hilarious. When she went to introduce us she started with Mr. and Mrs. instead of Mrs. and Mrs! She caught it but not before we all shared a good laugh! Overall, Margie absolutely nailed the ceremony, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
