Mary + Kyle’s Morning Fall Indianapolis Engagement Portraits (Part I)
I met Mary at a past wedding as she was a bridesmaid. Now, she is engaged to Kyle! We met up on a brisk fall morning in Indianapolis to capture part one of two. Since Indiana weather is so weird, I wanted to capture the pair in case we get snow later this week. They brought along their two pups who, with the help of the world squirrel, were great dog models. I look forward to seeing these two later this week for their dressy look!
Q+A with Bride to be Mary:
We met through a mutual friend. Kyle was playing in a flag football game and our mutual friend invited me to come along and watch the game. Kyle asked if I wanted to get a drink after the game. I said sure, we went to the Wellington Bar in broad ripple, he got my number and the rest is history!
Our first official date was at Milktooth. We drank boozy coffees and enjoyed a perfect fall Sunday brunch!
He proposed in Chicago on our 2 year anniversary and also my birthday weekend. He booked us a room at the Sofitel Hotel where we stayed for our first weekend away together, he booked a couples massage and when we got back to the room it was covered in flowers, candles and bottles of champagne. I was so caught off guard, because he was with me the whole time, that I thought we walked into the wrong hotel room. He said “Happy Birthday! Close your eyes I have a surprise for you!” When I opened my eyes he was down on one knee Then he had one more surprise, when we went downstairs to go to dinner both of our moms were waiting for us. They were the ones who decorated our room. I was so lucky he thought about how much I would want to celebrate and involve our families. At dinner I found out we pulled up at the same time as my mom and barely missed running into her in the lobby 🤣 crisis averted!
We’re having our wedding in Chicago September 12, 2020 on the Chicago River Odyssey Boat. Chicago has a special place in our hearts because it’s where we got engaged. We can’t wait to celebrate surrounded by beautiful architecture, on the water with our friends and family from all four corners of the US.
