Inn at Irwin Gardens and Factory 12 loft wedding

Katie and Nick’s early fall Inn at Irwin Gardens and Factory 12 loft was gorgeous! They lucked out on the last warm summer day as well as had a dream team of vendors. There were stunning florals by Pomp and Bloom. Walter was able to get some great drone photos of the champagne pop as well! Congrats to the newlyweds!

Couple Q+A

Wedding synopsis/overview of the day? Well… to make a LONG story short- we had originally planned to get married in Indy as that is where Nick works and we spend a lot of time up there. A lot of our bridal party is also from Indy. We looked at 3 venues before finally choosing Biltwell. Our wedding date was Saturday, June 13th, 2020. We had all our vendors lined up and ready to go and then COVID hit 🙂 After LOTS of thinking and praying, we decided to move our wedding day out a couple of months. This was not an easy decision. We reached out to Factory 12 Event Loft in Columbus, IN (our hometown) and they luckily had a Friday open in September. We chose The Loft because it had the same vibe that we fell in love with at Biltwell. We also knew that the end of September is the beginning of fall with all the colors changing and therefore reached out to Irwin Gardens for our ceremony. It all worked out in the end and Friday, September 25th was the PERFECT date! We had perfect fall weather. It was sunny and beautiful!

The decor was inspiration from Pinterest. I knew I wanted a lot of greenery with some soft blush/nude colors. Pomp & Bloom really nailed my vision, especially after having to change some of the flowers due to the season changing from summer (our original date) to fall.

My gown is from Marie Gabriel in Indianapolis. I went in with a picture of the gown I wanted and it actually ended up being the one. I did have them remove the sleeves that were originally lace to more of a loose chiffon material. I wanted something a little more soft.

Favorite moments? Oh gosh. There were so many favorite moments throughout the day. It’s hard to pick just one. The first look with both my dad and nick were for sure favorites and moments I will remember for the rest of my life. Also, the first dance with my dad was very special and he still cries when he talks about it now or sees pictures.

Funniest moment(s)? The CHAMPAGNE popping and almost taking out someone. Luckily, we were able to still get some amazing shots of us all celebrating!

First Dance Songs? Nick and I had our song picked out for a long time. It is just a song we both fell in love with and every time we would hear it on the radio, we just knew that was it.
My dad and I decided to do a mash up of two different songs. The first song, I picked out because I just loved the words to it. The second song, Butterfly Kisses, is a song we knew we were going to dance to ever since I was a little girl. My dad actually wanted to release real butterflies afterwards but we thought that may be a little much 🙂
