Have fun on your honeymoon in Italy you two!! Thank you for having us document your special day!!
Bride + Groom Q + A
Overview of the day? We’re both big history nerds, and we wanted to get married at a place with lots of character and elegance. Fortunately, Laurel Hall has that in spades. It also happens to be the headquarters of Daniel’s fraternity (Phi Kappa Psi) by day, so we knew it was the perfect place for us to marry! Our day could not have been more magical. While the venue, flowers, food and dancing was amazing, it really was the people who celebrated this important moment with us that made our wedding so special. We loved having everyone we love under one roof for the day!
We both find beauty in simplicity, so we wanted our wedding style to have a minimalist vibe while still feeling classic and elegant. We complemented the gorgeous vintage details of the venue with local flowers from Molly and Myrtle in our color palette of dusty blue, blush, and pops of wine and burgundy. And candles….lots of candles!
Anecdotes about your gown? I didn’t realize until after the ceremony that no one knew how to bustle my dress for the reception. Fortunately, one of the groomsmen has a degree in fashion design and came to the rescue 🙂
Favorite moment? Our ceremony — we wrote it together, but it was another experience to hear the words and vows in front of all of the people we love.
Funniest moment? I was so anxious to get to the vows that I handed my bouquet — rather aggressively — to my MOH. Blame it on the nerves/adrenaline! 🙂
